Imagine if you will, you’ve just taken on the role of Head Gardener of a HUGE Garden, like Hyde Park. That’s pretty big, and not bad going. Nice one. Now imagine though, you had to maintain it on a budget of 50k and the previous person had gone over budget and taken out loans of 300k to cover the maintenance.
What would you do?
I think I’d tell the trustees and point out the difference of in vs. out, look for any rich supporters, think creatively about some new models of income, attempt to cut costs and go back to the core garden proposition and swap financial gifts to other growing gardens into other, non financial incentives.
Basically respect the position the government, whoops I mean garden is in and make moves to fix it.
